The Consultation:

Before sketching your gown, designer Sarah Alice Andrews will ensure that she understands not only your figure type and occasion, but also what would best reflect your personality and lifestyle.

You can trust Sarah to design the gown of your dreams for you - even if you have no idea what would be most suitable for you. Sarah's designs are completely exclusive, however you are welcome to bring inspiration photos if you have a particular silhouette or fabric in mind or even a family heirloom veil or necklace you intend to wear on the day. We will do our best to combine your ideas with Sarah's expertise and vision for you.

If you have already chosen your fabric, Sarah will design a gown that compliments your choices - or alternatively we will source the perfect materials for your gown from our extensive suppliers all over the world of the finest silks, French laces and exclusively designed hand embroidered fabrics.

Consultations are FREE. So you can contact us and have your first appointment with no obligation. You are most welcome to bring family and friends with you.

The Fitting Experience:

Through a series of fittings, your gown will be tailored to fit and enhance your body shape.

We recommend you bring your undergarments such as the bra or corset you will be wearing to all fittings as this will assist us in getting the best fit for your gown. If you are not sure what lingerie is appropriate for underneath your gown, please let Sarah and her team advise you.

Your first fitting will be done in a calico "toile" (a basic shape usually in cotton fabric or lining) in which many design elements will be finalised.

We will then cut your gown in your chosen fabric. You will need your shoes for this fitting as we will be deciding the length of your gown. Later any finishing touches and embellishments will be added.

Depending on the complexity of your gown and many other factors, you may have a number of fittings or just 2 or 3 before finally you try on your completed gown one more time and you take it home!

Your gown will be completed on a date to suit you, generally a few weeks before your wedding.

As a gift we will give you a lovely garment bag to take your gown home in.

What if I Am a Non-Average Size?

No Problem! One of the benefits of having your gown custom designed for you is that Sarah can design a gown that flatters your individual bodyshape. So no matter if you are a size 6 or a size 18+ or perhaps you are larger in the hips, or very top heavy - You can rest assured your gown will suit you perfectly.

How Early Should I Book my Consultation?

Early bookings wherever possible helps everything run smoothly for all involved. We prefer to allow at least 6 months minimum before your wedding to ensure we have plenty of time to perfect the fit and design. Many of our fabrics are designed and hand made specially to our requirements and our laces are from Paris, which can take several months to weave.

However if you only have a short time before your wedding, we may still be able to service your requirements within your deadline while still giving you an enjoyable couture experience. Call us now and we will discuss if we can fit you in!

I Live Interstate - Can You Still Make My Gown?

Yes! We have many clients from interstate.

Sarah regularly travels up to Brisbane so if you live in this area, don't hesitate to contact us about a consultation when she is next available.

For other interstate brides we do much of the process over email and phone with photos and sketches until you are ready to meet. (Usually at the stage of your first fitting so that you can minimise travel.)

We try to pre-book as many fittings as possible for our interstate brides so you can look out for good flights. Some of our clients choose to fly in early in the morning and then fly out in the evening so that they have time for their bridal gown fitting and then a bit of shopping afterwards! While others may stay in Sydney for a weekend..

Price Range:

Each gown I create for a bride is entirely different and priced accordingly. If you have a particular budget, don't hestitate to send me an email or give me a call and we can discuss what you are looking for and the options available to you.

As a general guide my gowns start at about $3000. This can be dependant on the types of fabrics used, the intricacy and workmanship of the laces, beading and complexity of the design.

Generally there are 'higher end' options and also more affordable options for any design. So as I say if you love my designs but you are not sure if you can afford this price-range, just give me a call or send me an email anyway and I will be happy to give you some options on what we could do for you.

Fabrics and Materials:

We use only the finest quality silks and laces for each wedding dress. Many of the laces I use are from France and I source each of these depending on the look that we are creating for your particular wedding gown design.

We also have a selection of cottons and silk/cotton blends available. Or if you have another fabric in mind we may be able to source this for your wedding gown depending on your budget.
