Elegant & Romantic with Riverside Views: Sydney Dance Studios Wedding

Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

Hello everyone,

I am very excited to show you the full post of Rebecca & Paul’s wedding at Sydney Dance Studios, Woolloomooloo.

Rebecca is a gorgeous, intellectual young woman and she was such a lovely bride to work with. From the outset she had total trust in us to create and design her gown although she had clear ideas about the style. Rebecca wanted a sophisticated wedding dress that had lots of detail in the draping of the fabric so that she could avoid needing lace and other embellishments.

Rebecca trusted me to choose the colour and fabrics, so I chose a Silk Dupion as the main base fabric with a gorgeous satiny Silk Organza and soft English Tulle as the overlays.

The result was a very elegant, romantic wedding gown that suited her perfectly. We also made her veil and she sourced her own headpiece to match.

I would like to say a big thank you to Chris at Uber Photography – www.uberphotography.com.au for the photos of Rebecca and Paul’s Wedding:

I love how Uber Photography has captured all the precious moments of Rebecca & Paul’s wedding day, while also injecting some seriously fun and unique shots of the couple. Uber Photography are based on the North Shore and you can see more of their work their website: www.uberphotography.com.au.

I always love to hear about the story of how a couple met so I asked Rebecca a little bit about how she met Paul:

“I was invited back to my previous law firm for drinks one Friday night by my old boss to celebrate the move into their new office. Paul had started working there after I had left and we were introduced… We hit it off straight away and the rest is history!”

“Paul proposed to me on our 5th anniversary (Romeo & Juliet style on our balcony) to one of my favourite songs – Love Story by Taylor Swift. He had set up candles and love heart arrows down the hallway, long stemmed roses on the balcony, a bottle of Verve in a champagne bucket with glasses and strawberries and presented me with a little blue box from Tiffany’s with the most beautiful engagement ring inside. The whole thing felt like a dream! We decided that night to get married on our 6th anniversary the following year. We planned our entire wedding together, which is why I think everyone felt that the wedding was so ‘us’. It was a really enjoyable experience planning our wedding, and because we were equally invested in it and could count on each other with all the arrangements, it all went really smoothly.” – Rebecca

Romantic, Simple or Elegant Bridal Veils Created to Match your Wedding Gown:

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Hello to all the lovely brides-to-be, wedding professionals and friends,

Some of you may not know that we can create veils, hairpieces, garters and everything Bridal – not just your wedding gown! We have even restored vintage hair pieces and veils to their former glory that you can wear as your ‘Something Old’ or ‘Borrowed’.

Here are some photos of one of our long veils in fine English Tulle worn by Rebecca.

Rebecca opted for a simple tulle veil, as her gown (created by us) was already so elaborate. She then teamed it with a beautiful feather head piece she bought herself.

You might want to find something special to match with your veil such as a brooch or a headband like Rebecca did, or have us make a matching headpiece with the same beading or lace as your wedding dress.

Veils can be made in any length, such as a short Blush style, Fingertip, Chapel or Cathedral length.

We can even add some beautiful lace trim to the full length of your veil if you want something very elaborate. If you are wearing a lace wedding gown, we can use the same lace as we used on your gown. Or if you have already bought your gown elsewhere we can source a lace for your veil that is a good match in colour and detail.

All of our workmanship is done by hand – even the binding of satin around the comb for a high quality look.

If you would like to have your whole wedding dress and accessories made or just your bridal veil, give me a call or send me an email – details on my contact page.

Photo Slideshow from Rebecca & Paul’s Wedding at Sydney Dance Studios

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012

Hello everyone!

Have a look here at some highlights of my couture bridal gown client Rebecca and Paul’s sophisticated and romantic wedding at Sydney Dance Studios.

http://www.uberphotography.net.au/highlights/rebecca_paul/

Rebecca’s gown was made in Silk Dupion, Silk Organza and a very fine English Tulle. All the draping was done by hand throughout the whole bodice and skirt and we also made her veil in the same matching fine Tulle. Rebecca teamed this with a beautiful head piece she bought herself for a stunning and high fashion look.

Rebecca and Paul’s wedding was shot by the very talented Uber Photography who I have found to be very friendly and approachable. I look forward to seeing more of their weddings soon. Oh and I love the music they chose for the slideshow.. Might have to look up that song on iTunes soon!
