What’s Happening at our Couture Studio: September News Update

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Hi lovely brides, vendors and readers,

As many of you would know October and November are VERY busy months for weddings! So we have been incredibly busy finishing off gowns for our lovely brides and preparing for the early 2013 weddings as well!

Each of our bridal gowns are SO different to each other so we are really enjoying working on all of them. The chantilly laces are exquisite, the silk fabrics are exceptional quality and the hues range from white, ivory, pink to beige.

Some have gorgeous rinestone beading, while others are all about the draping and ruffles or an incredible French lace that I handpicked for the gown.

I can’t wait to share the photos not only from the weddings but also from the behind the scenes making of these bridal gowns. It’s hard to imagine just how much delicate hand-work, time, sweat, tears and love goes into each couture gown and why you would choose to have your wedding dress custom made as opposed to buying it off the rack.

Things to look out for in the next couple of months – a new Glamour Photoshoot with Foster Photography of one of my gorgeous brides and also more posts of Real Weddings!

Remember, I post every 2 weeks on a Wednesday so check my Facebook or Twitter to see updates about new posts. I know some of my readers would prefer I blogged more often, but we’re very busy making your gorgeous wedding dresses here so we don’t have much time to spend online!

Check out today’s Friday Roundup for our feature on Polka Dot Bride:

Friday, September 7th, 2012

Hello everyone,

I’m doing an extra snippet blog today to mention a news item being featured on today’s Polka Dot Bride’s Friday Roundup:

That’s right – I am making a trip for two days to Brisbane on Friday 14th September until Saturday 15th September (2 day trip) and I will be doing bridal gown consultations for Brisbane brides looking for a couture made-to-measure wedding gown on those two days between Friday 14th Sept morning 11am – 6pm until Saturday 15th Sept afternoon 10am – 5pm.

These consultations are strictly by appointment only as I have a very limited number of spots still available and I give totally dedicated time to each Bride.

At your appointment, I will sit down with you and we can talk about your dream wedding dress and what ideas you have or if you’re not sure what you would like, you can look through some of my designs and I’ll sketch up some ideas that I think would suit you.

We will then discuss suitable silks, laces and other materials to start bringing your gown to life!

Consultations are free and there is no obligation to go ahead with the design. – I always welcome plenty of discussion via email or phone as you have a think about the designs I have done for you and decide if they’re right for your wedding.

If you’d like any further info about how I conduct a consultation for my interstate brides you can see my blog link here: http://www.sarahaliceandrews.com/blog/?p=1252

Look out for the 7th September 2012 Friday Round Up blog post on Polka Dot Bride here: http://www.polkadotbride.com

Romantic, Simple or Elegant Bridal Veils Created to Match your Wedding Gown:

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Hello to all the lovely brides-to-be, wedding professionals and friends,

Some of you may not know that we can create veils, hairpieces, garters and everything Bridal – not just your wedding gown! We have even restored vintage hair pieces and veils to their former glory that you can wear as your ‘Something Old’ or ‘Borrowed’.

Here are some photos of one of our long veils in fine English Tulle worn by Rebecca.

Photo by Uber Photography – based on Sydney’s North Shore: www.uberphotography.com.au

Rebecca opted for a simple tulle veil, as her gown (created by us) was already so elaborate. She then teamed it with a beautiful feather head piece she bought herself.

You might want to find something special to match with your veil such as a brooch or a headband like Rebecca did, or have us make a matching headpiece with the same beading or lace as your wedding dress.

Veils can be made in any length, such as a short Blush style, Fingertip, Chapel or Cathedral length.

We can even add some beautiful lace trim to the full length of your veil if you want something very elaborate. If you are wearing a lace wedding gown, we can use the same lace as we used on your gown. Or if you have already bought your gown elsewhere we can source a lace for your veil that is a good match in colour and detail.

All of our workmanship is done by hand – even the binding of satin around the comb for a high quality look.

If you would like to have your whole wedding dress and accessories made or just your bridal veil, give me a call or send me an email – details on my contact page.
